Dr. Mel Ortega

Dr. Mel Thomas Ortega, MD, FACS — A board-certified plastic and reconstructive surgeon with more than three decades of experience in aesthetic transformation and body contouring. Dr. Ortega received his Doctor of Medicine degree from La Salle University Mexican Medical School in Mexico City, where he graduated among the top of his class. He went on to complete his General Surgery residency at Lincoln Medical and Mental Health Center, a Level III Trauma Center in the Bronx, New York, where he served as Chief Resident of Surgery. Dr. Ortega then completed his Plastic Surgery residency at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, gaining extensive experience in microvascular, hand, and reconstructive surgery.

Throughout his distinguished career, Dr. Ortega has practiced across respected medical institutions in Florida, New York, Ohio, and Texas. He has held active hospital affiliations at leading centers including HCA Aventura Hospital and Larkin Community Hospital. His surgical practice—focused primarily on aesthetic body procedures—has become known for precision, artistry, and exceptional results.

A Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, Dr. Ortega has published multiple peer-reviewed studies and presented at international symposia on aesthetic and reconstructive advancements.
