Facelift in Miami
A person’s face is far and away their most defining quality. People distinguish each other primarily through facial recognition, after all. Because of this, many people find that the changes their faces undergo as they age are damaging to their identities. When you spend your entire life being recognized by your own distinctive face, the feeling of seeing that face wrinkle and sag and slowly become a very different visage can be disturbing.
Fortunately, a procedure exists that can undo much of the negative effects aging can cause.
What is a Facelift?
A facelift surgery combats the effects of aging on the face by smoothing out lines and excess skin to restore it to a more youthful appearance. To do this, excess skin may be removed so that the remaining skin can be pulled tighter over the face, creating a much smoother appearance. Facial muscles may also be lifted, along with other tissues. Unlike Botox®, facelifts provide a more long-lasting solution to the ravages of age.
Types of Facelifts
There are a number of facelift varieties used in practice today. A mini facelift is often used when the patient is exhibiting a small amount of jowling and sagging skin. In this less invasive facelift procedure, the surgeon performs all of the work through small incisions made at the peripheries of the face. Through these incisions, deep facial tissues are tightened to restore a more youthful appearance. A full standard facelift can address greater degrees of aging, however the procedure is more invasive and has a longer recovery time. Often times, facelifts are broken up and defined by the area of the face that they address. For example, a lower facelift would attend to the face from the corners of the mouth and below and a mid-facelift would address the face from the corners of the eyes to the corners of the mouth.

Non-surgical facelift procedures exist too, of course. Options such as Botox® injections are still reasonably popular. Products exist that attempt to create the effects of a facelift, too. Facelift tape, which is simply a clear adhesive that can be used to pull back the skin and smooth back wrinkles for a day, as well as face lift creams advertise DIY facelift techniques, often producing mixed results. There are also face lift exercises that aim to strengthen and tighten the muscles under the chin and a number of other natural facelift methods involving anything from coconut oil to cucumbers.
Face lifts without surgery can be effective in the short term, however most do not have the same long-term effects that surgical methods can provide.
How Much Does a Facelift Cost?
Since there are multiple different kinds of facelifts, the facelift prices will vary per procedure. Mini facelifts typically cost around $5,000, placing them on the less expensive side of facelift surgery prices. Sectional facelift procedures vary in cost too. Lower facelift costs generally average around $7,000. Thread facelift costs meanwhile are some of the lowest of any face lift procedure, averaging around $3,000 and $5,000.
